About Me

Traditional to Digital

Similarly to how most artists talk about their lives and experiences with making art, I started from a young age painting and drawing. However, differently than most, I had the privilege to continue to practice drawing and painting for three hours every day at an arts high school. In high school, I studied visual arts where we were trained with a focus in realism. Eventually I decided to continue in college when I got into Pratt Institute to be a painting major.
In the first year at Pratt, students are intensely trained in observational drawing and color theory. In addition, students are put through a digital art class to learn basic Adobe programs such as photoshop and illustrator.I began to work harder and feel more passionate about making artwork in a new medium, digitally, even if it wasn’t perfect. For the first in a very long time, I had felt the creative spark again.
While I was enjoying myself so much in the digital art class, I knew I couldn’t continue majoring in painting.. I chose to major in 3D animation to continue learning new programs and making fine art in such an intriguing new medium. With my extensive background in fine art, I’ve recently taken to creating environments and different assets in CGI. For me, modeling and texturing environments make me happier than animating because it relates to my previous knowledge of art and creating. Three years into studying 3D animation, I am still as passionate about learning and creating as the day I decided to pursue 3D professionally.
